According to the aurora forecast it looks like we should have strong auroral activity tonight. If it is clear enough to see the sky get out and enjoy it!

It has been six years since a major overhaul of mitkof.org… But this change isn’t just for the sake of change. You’ll (soon) still find the forums for free classified ads and conversations about local happenings. I’m working on getting that set up right after this introductory post.
This change will begin to allow for more frequent updates about what is going on around Petersburg.
Centennial fireworks by Orin Pierson
Yesterday was the centennial of the incorporation of the City of Petersburg. Two significant events took place to mark the occasion. At 2 PM the community gathered for a photograph. Check out the news story that Matt Lichtenstein put together for KFSK for some audio of the event. Photos will be available eventually.
In the evening at about 9 PM, Dave Berg (from Viking Travel) coordinated a fireworks show. See some photos of the display at Orin Pierson’s Flickr page.
